Life comes with challenges, however big or small, it is tough.

Hi, I’m Karim, the founder of mindli. I started mindli because I’ve always cared deeply about mental health and wanted to make it something people can talk about more openly, without feeling judged. Growing up in East London, I never realised how much people were struggling—but once I got older, that changed, and I knew I wanted to do something about it. Outside of work, I’m a big football fan (Manchester United supporter —so I’ve had my fair share of emotional resilience training already), I enjoy trying new foods, staying active, and spending time with family and friends.

I’ve worked in mental health for over a decade, starting out as a volunteer in community services, then going on to work in a forensic psychiatric hospital, and now as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist within the NHS. Along the way, I’ve built a strong foundation in supporting people across a wide range of mental health needs and settings.

Mindli was created with a simple but powerful vision: to make understanding mental health accessible, practical, and genuinely useful in everyday life. Not everyone needs—or wants—traditional therapy, but everyone deserves the tools to understand their mind, manage emotional challenges, and feel more in control. mindli focuses on clear, evidence-based support delivered in a way that feels human, relatable, and immediately applicable. The aim is to bridge the gap between theory and real life, empowering individuals and communities with the confidence to navigate their mental wellbeing more effectively.

Our Founder: Shuheb Karim.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is grounded in evidence-based practice, particularly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), with experience supporting people through a range of common mental health difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, and stress, as well as working with long-term conditions. I also hold a diploma in Couples Behavioural Therapy, which informs my work with relationships and the patterns that can develop within them. I work in a calm, compassionate, and thoughtful way, creating a space where you can feel at ease to explore what’s going on for you.

Collaboration sits at the heart of how I work—I don’t see myself as the expert on your life; you are. My role is to bring my clinical knowledge and experience alongside your own insight, so together we can make sense of difficulties and find practical, meaningful ways forward. Alongside my therapeutic work, I place strong value on normalising and encouraging open conversations around mental health within our communities. I’m particularly passionate about delivering workshops that make this knowledge more accessible, and I’m excited to continue creating spaces where people can learn, reflect, and feel more confident in understanding their mental wellbeing.
